Program OVerview

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you become an intracule part of the surgical team by preparing the equipment necessary to perform surgical procedures. Sterile Processors are responsible for several day-to-day activities including sterilizing devices and tools used in surgical procedures and handling surgery tools. Many technicians work in highly specialized operating rooms, where they take great care to sterilize surfaces and equipment.

Students enrolled in the WTC’s Sterile Processing Technician program can gain the necessary skills and knowledge for sterilizing and preparing medical equipment, inspecting medical equipment for functionality and sterilization, ensuring medical procedures rooms are sterile, and recording test results for sterilization.

This 7-month program prepares you to sit for national certification in sterile processing and employment in the industry as a sterile processor.

Certification Information
